Ohio State Representative Brian Stewart, a Republican serving Ohio House District 12, recently shared a series of posts on his social media account reflecting on work culture and political tolerance in the arts.
On March 19, 2026, Stewart commented on contemporary work-life balance, stating, “Working 20 hours a day for the ability to buy a 36 inch TV you put on an IKEA chest of drawers is not much of a flex.”
Two days later, on March 21, he posted another message with limited context: “This. “
Later that same day, Stewart addressed political diversity in Hollywood and personal preferences as a conservative. He wrote, “Being a conservative, you long ago make peace with the fact that many, many artists you like don’t share your politics. So it’s bizarre to me when liberals can’t tolerate the half dozen semi-conservatives in Hollywood like Chuck Norris. Zack here has it right.”
Brian Stewart has served as an infantry veteran in the Iraq War and earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge along with two Army Commendation Medals (official website). Representing Madison and Pickaway counties and part of western Franklin County, Stewart has also co-chaired the first meeting of the Ohio Redistricting Commission. His interests include movies, sports, target shooting, American history books, and music by Johnny Cash.
