Ohio State Representative Brian Stewart Shares Views on Film and Online Discourse
Ohio State Rep. Brian Stewart, who represents Ohio House District 12 and is an Iraq War veteran, posted a series of tweets between May 10 and May 13, 2026, discussing topics ranging from cinematography in James Bond films to commentary on online film criticism.
On May 10, Stewart commented on the visual appeal of recent James Bond films: “It’s the second best *looking* Bond film of all time. Roger Deakins did SKYFALL, but Hoyt Van Hoytema (now Nolan’s cinematographer) shot SPECTRE and it’s incredible.”
Two days later, on May 12, he shared a tweet referencing a domestic scenario: “When you pour boiling potatoes over your husband’s head, it’s a fair line of questioning. ”
On May 13, Stewart addressed online speculation about director Christopher Nolan: “I cannot believe that in the year 2026 this site is filled with people voluntarily predicting that Christopher Nolan has directed a crappy movie.”
Brian Stewart has served as a Republican state representative for Ohio House District 12, representing Madison and Pickaway counties and part of western Franklin County (official website). He earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge and two Army Commendation Medals during his service in the Iraq War. In addition to his legislative work—including co-chairing the first meeting of the Ohio Redistricting Commission—Stewart enjoys movies among other interests such as sports, target shooting, American history books, and the music of Johnny Cash.
