Ohio State Representative Brian Stewart commented on issues ranging from state tax policy to legal citation standards and stadium funding in a series of tweets posted on April 4, 2026.
In his first post of the day, Stewart referenced recent financial maneuvers by the state and media coverage. He wrote, “Using increased taxes received to pay taxpayers back for the initial amount advanced? So…what the state did with Brook Park. You’re about to watch the entire Ohio media apparatus run cover for this when Dems do it, after parroting every Dem attack line when the GOP did it.” (April 4, 2026)
Later that afternoon, Stewart questioned industry conventions regarding legal documentation. He stated, “There is no indication anywhere that the form of case citations matters to anyone aside from the publisher of the Blue Book.” (April 4, 2026)
Addressing sports funding policies, Stewart commented on perceived differences in support between men’s and women’s professional sports. He tweeted, “I guess Democrats’ position on stadium funding is: NFL Football: “Ewwww, no!” Women’s Soccer: “Yay! Tell us where to send the check!”” (April 4, 2026)
Brian Stewart serves as a Republican representative for Ohio House District 12 and represents Madison and Pickaway counties as well as part of western Franklin County according to his official biography. A veteran of the Iraq War who earned two Army Commendation Medals and co-chaired Ohio’s Redistricting Commission’s first meeting, Stewart also has interests in movies, sports, target shooting, American history books, and music.
