Bernie Moreno, U.S. Senator from Ohio, posted a series of statements on April 17, 2026, addressing political opponents, U.S. manufacturing leadership, and federal law enforcement activities.
In his first post of the day, Moreno criticized Democratic voters and candidates: “Evidently nothing excites Democrat voters more than a nazi loving, police hating, antisemite. @grahamformaine is destroying @SenSchumer’s hand picked candidate. Wow!” (April 17, 2026).
Later that afternoon, Moreno praised Howard Lutnick for his contributions to U.S. manufacturing under former President Donald Trump: “Hell no! @howardlutnick has done more for US manufacturing, under the direction of @realDonaldTrump, than every other Commerce Secretary in US history!” (April 17, 2026).
In a subsequent statement regarding federal law enforcement and child welfare oversight during the Biden administration, Moreno wrote: “Our federal law enforcement partners were there to verify that the kids that Biden had lost, hundreds of thousands of them nationally, were accounted for, safe, and attending school. This was not a deportation exercise. The story that should be reported, instead of this fake” (April 17, 2026).
Moreno immigrated from Colombia at age five with his family and became a U.S. citizen at eighteen (official website). He currently serves on Senate committees related to banking, housing and urban affairs; commerce; science; transportation; homeland security; governmental affairs; and budget issues (official website). In addition to legislative work promoting innovation in transportation technologies and blockchain adoption (official website), he maintains offices throughout Ohio to serve constituents (official website). Moreno has also built one of America’s leading car dealership groups as part of his commitment to job creation in Ohio (official website).
