Bernie Moreno, U.S. Senator from Ohio and member of several Senate committees including banking, housing, urban affairs, and homeland security, recently used his social media platform to comment on Republican party strategy and criticize Senate Democrats’ immigration policies.
On March 28, 2026, Moreno highlighted an opinion piece by Tim Sheehy on the direction of the Republican Party. In his post, he stated: “Phenomenal OpEd by @TimSheehyMT. ‘If Republicans shift our focus from fighting each other to fighting for what Americans have told us they want, we could pass the SAVE America Act, secure our elections, and have the wind at our back heading into November.'”
Two days later, on March 30, 2026, Moreno criticized Democratic Senate candidates in a tweet that read: “Democrats have an abundance of riches to choose from when selecting which one of their Senate candidates is the craziest, most radical, and most anti American. So far the top three are @jamestalarico @AbdulElSayed and @grahamformaine. All of them endorsed by @BernieSanders.”
In another post on March 30, 2026, Moreno addressed border policy negotiations in Congress: “They are radically pro open borders. The negotiations last week came down to this: Senate Democrats want to prevent ANY immigration enforcement outside of 10 miles from our southern and northern borders. That would turn the country into a sanctuary nation. Hell no!”
Moreno immigrated from Colombia at age five with his family and became a U.S. citizen at eighteen (official website). He has built one of America’s leading car dealership groups and maintains active engagement with Ohio residents through newsletter subscriptions and constituent offices across Washington D.C., Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati (official website). As part of his legislative work in the Senate—where he serves on committees addressing commerce, science, transportation as well as budget issues—Moreno also promotes blockchain technology innovation and safety standards for autonomous vehicles (official website).
