Bernie Moreno, U.S. Senator representing Ohio and an advocate for banking and housing issues, used his social media platform in May 2026 to criticize large financial institutions and express support for recent executive actions targeting corporate ownership of single-family homes.

On May 11, Moreno posted: ” The banking cartel is in full panic mode.

While Americans were celebrating Mother’s Day with their families, the CEO of the American Bankers Association sent a frantic alert to every bank CEO in the country, demanding ‘immediate engagement’ to lobby Senators and kill https://t.co/Phd6HsdBXR”.

Later that day, Moreno wrote: ” President Trump is RIGHT, the American Dream of homeownership is under siege thanks to corporate greed that steals opportunities from working Americans.

President Trump signed an Executive Order banning large investment firms from buying up single-family homes, I led the https://t.co/kemV2TetgG”.

On May 12, he added: “The USA’s number one grifter teams up with the least qualified member of the House and giant Wall Street firms to strip the dream of home ownership from a generation of young Americans.

Moreno serves on Senate committees addressing banking, housing, urban affairs, commerce, science, transportation, homeland security, governmental affairs and budget issues (official website).
