Angie King, Ohio state representative for the 84th House District, addressed her constituents and followers on social media this week regarding misinformation, recognition of military service, and local educational traditions.
On May 15, King responded to circulating rumors by stating, “This claim is FALSE. Given the sheer number of inquiries I’ve received, I’m unable to keep up with individual responses. Before sharing such information, please verify to make sure the information is accurate. Another scammer with too much time on their hands spreading fake https://t.co/rFR90WpvQr”.
The following day, King honored military personnel in a public message: “Today we recognize the strength, sacrifice, and service of our Armed Forces. Grateful for all who wear the uniform and defend our nation. https://t.co/D2JBGiHoaE” (May 16).
Later that same day, she highlighted an annual tradition involving graduating seniors in her district: “Graduation season is always special and it also marks one of my favorite traditions each year writing a personal letter to graduating seniors across our district. Which I personally deliver to each participating school. We have so much to be proud of in HD 84. Our 17 school https://t.co/oxuYcvdyPf” (May 16).
King’s tenure as representative has included advocacy for the deaf and hard of hearing community and support for universal newborn hearing screening legislation in Ohio (official biography). She holds degrees from Wright State University—a bachelor’s in organizational leadership and a master’s in business administration—and lives in Celina with her husband Mark; they have two adult children and four grandchildren.
