Adam Mathews, a representative for Ohio’s 56th House District, recently shared his views and legislative priorities in a series of social media posts.
On April 2, 2026, Mathews urged action on pending legislation: “Ohio has to pass HB 693! Let’s get it out of committee when we come back in May! @clickforohio @JoshWilliamsOH”. Later that day, he posted a more personal message: “I, too, can feel like an astronaut.” On April 3, he reflected on values with the statement: “The 7 chief virtues are faith, hope, love, temperance, prudence, fortitude, and justice. I think if I could add an 8th, it would be ‘wonder.'”
Mathews has chaired the Board of Directors for Elizabeth’s New Life Center—a network of women’s centers in Southwest Ohio—and served as Vice Mayor of Lebanon according to his official biography. He also chaired the Intellectual Property Section of the Ohio State Bar Association and held board positions with organizations such as the Cincinnati Federalist Society and Warren County Republican Party. In addition to his professional roles, Mathews is noted as Vice President of the Notre Dame Club of Dayton and resides in Lebanon with his wife Amanda and their five children.
HB 693 remains under consideration in committee as lawmakers prepare for their return in May.
